2011年新年第一天，广西壮族自治区2011名冬泳爱好者聚集在广西首府南宁母亲河——邕江两岸，参加一年一度的冬泳活动，纪念毛泽东畅游邕江53周年，同时倡导全民健身。
南宁今天天气晴好，轻微东北风，最低气温9摄氏度，邕江一桥两岸彩旗飘扬，锣鼓喧天。上午9时许，来到活动现场的老者李卫为晚辈讲述起毛主席邕江冬泳的历史。1958年1月7日和10日下午，时年65岁的毛泽东两次畅游邕江。
75岁老人朱永庄是广西百色市冬泳协会会员。不久前刚刚“横渡”台湾日月潭，他已是第八次参加南宁新年冬泳活动。他说，畅游邕江是怀念伟人的最好方式。
10时整，发令枪声一响，来自广西南宁、崇左、梧州、玉林、百色、北海等地的2011名冬泳爱好者分批次纵身跃入江中。队伍中年纪最长者有81岁，最年轻的孩子不到7岁。他们扛着“毛主席率领我们乘风破浪”、“冰冻我不怕，挥手我前进”等牌匾，高喊口号渡过三百多米的江面。
自从1958年1月7日和10日下午，时年65岁的毛泽东两次畅游邕江后，便引发了南宁市民畅游邕江的热潮。南宁市先后建立“冬泳亭”和“毛泽东冬泳纪念馆”，当地每年元旦都会举办群众性的冬泳邕江活动。/来自中华网社区 club.china.com/
